FBI says Rogers Park man is a suspect in another bank heist

A Rogers Park man was arrested and charged with robbing a Northwest Side bank in November, authorities announced Thursday. Bogdan Lungu, 23, of the 1000 block of West Pratt Boulevard was arrested last week after being charged with the Nov. 17 robbery of a Chase Bank branch at 5813 N. Milwaukee Ave., the FBI said in a news release. Lungu walked into the bank around noon that day and handed a teller a note, announcing a robbery and demanding money, according to the FBI. After getting about $5,000, he fled onto Milwaukee Avenue and became lost in the crowd.He already was in Cook County Jail on unrelated charges when he was identified as the robbery suspect.
Lungu, who was ordered held without bail at a federal court hearing on a felony count of bank robbery, is also suspected of holding up another Chase Bank at 7015 N. Western Ave. on Dec. 3, the FBI said. If convicted of the November robbery, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
