The Howard Area Seniors Club has just printed/published their "Recipe Book" and it is now available. Copies can be purchased at the Howard Area Community Center, 7648 N. Paulina, Chicago. Just stop by the reception desk and see Donna. They make wonderful Holiday Gifts and the cost is only $10.00/book. To order delivery by mail, contact Sister Cecilia Fandel at cecilia.fandel@rcn.com. Mail orders require an additional $2.00 charge to cover postage. Each page has a photo and life story of one of the senior club members, as well as their hand autographed favorite recipe. All proceeds go to help the seniors travel out of the neighborhood and take occasional, inexpensive field trips to see the sights and participate in events around Chicago.
"I have sampled a number of the recipes and not only is the food outstanding, but the book is worth having just to read the 'biography' of each contributor. The Senior Club members originally come from all parts of the globe, i.e., South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and the United States. It's a remarkable group and they truly reflect the wonderful multi-cultural and ethnic diversity of our community."
