COMMUNITY MEETING TONIGHT

Community Meeting on Proposed Relocation of
Chicago Math & Science Academy to Clark Mall Site

Dear Neighbor,
I am writing to invite you to attend a community meeting to review a proposal for a new home for the
Chicago Math and Science Academy (CMSA) . The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, 7:00 p.m. at the Touhy Park Fieldhouse, 7348 N. Paulina (across from the old Clark Mall site and the new firestation).

CMSA is currently located at Morse and Paulina in the old St. Jerome's School. They have outgrown their current location and have been actively looking for a new Rogers Park home.
CMSA has entered into a contract to purchase the old Clark Mall site at 7212 N. Clark Street. They propose to retrofit the existing building, which has been vacant for several years, into a new school for grades 6-12. In order to do so they will need to change the zoning from its current C2-2 designation to RT-4.

Mr. Salim Ucan, principal of CMSA, and CMSA's attorneys and architects will present site plans and renderings of the proposed school. I urge you to attend the meeting to provide your opinions of the proposal. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to reply to ward49@cityofchicago.org with your thoughts and suggestions.

Sincerely,
Joe Moore
